Some works of art touch us deeply, but we don't know exactly why. This gilded and polychromed Virgin in the round is fashioned using an ancient method of mixing boiled cardboard, glue and flour, a technique inherited from the Middle Ages.

Dimensions: 110 cm high, 57 cm wide, 34 cm deep.
Condition : Visible wear, accidents and notable missing parts, particularly on the hands.

The expressive Virgin sits on a carved and painted gilded wood tabernacle. The tabernacle features a door decorated with the Triangle in Glory, symbol of the Holy Trinity, flanked by two niches.

Tabernacle dimensions: 65 cm high, 63 cm wide, 38 cm deep.
Condition: missing and worn, lock present but key missing.
