Very large, elegant chryselephantine sculpture of a woman walking with her greyhounds, signed by Menneville and Rochard (Ugo Cipriani and Irenée Rochard). The young lady was modeled by Cipriani and the greyhounds by Irénée Rochard. The group rests on a black marble and onyx base, highlighting the graceful young woman with her delicate ivory face and flowery dress, and her two golden dogs. The figure's posture is light and dynamic.
Irénée Rochard (1906-1984) was a French animal sculptor known for his highly realistic works and recognized for his numerous awards and prizes.
Ugo Cipriani (pseudonym Menneville) (1887-1960) A sculptor born in Italy, after studying at the Florence Academy of Fine Arts, he practiced in Italy for several years before migrating to France.
