A large and beautiful sculpture in copper alloy with a shaded brown patina, representing the Borghese gladiator.
This Hellenistic sculpture, which in reality represents a warrior in combat and whose author is thought to be Agasias of Ephesus, was kept by the Borghese family in the 17th and 18th centuries. It was acquired by Emperor Napoleon I in 1807 and is now on display at the Musée du Louvre.
