    Important subject representing a young ingenue woman courted by a young man. "The Wolf and the Lamb" is a sculpture by François Alphonse Piquemal (1869-1911), a pupil of Cavelin, who appeared at the Salon and received an honorable mention in 1909. It is also inscribed "Nardi Editeur" on the back of the work.
    The young lady dressed in a vaporous dress and wearing a bustier revealing her breasts, is sitting, her shy eyes lowered, wearing a delicate smile. We imagine her blushing, flattered by the attention she is receiving.
    A man is standing behind her, interested in the beautiful woman. He is courting her, standing nonchalantly against a wall with a basin on top.
    "The Wolf and the Lamb" is an allegory to this fickle man who covets this beautiful, sweet and naive maiden.
    This romantic work, reminiscent of a scene from the Louis XV period, will charm you with its grace and poetry.
