Set in plaster, bust of Caracalla on column, sculpted in one block.
Caracalla (188-216 AD) was a Roman emperor known for his great admiration for Alexander the Great, and declaring himself his successor.
The Roman politician appears, through his younger years, with dense curly hair. His beardless face is turned towards the ground. This sculpture is adjoining and rests on an Ionic column with stopped flutes, decorated with four scrolls with overhangs.
The base, molded with grooves, rests on a square pedestal.
