This work was produced jointly by the two sculptors, Émile Guillemin and Alfred Barye fils .
Group in spelter resting on a richly chiseled naturalist terrace , signed "Barye.fils" and "E.Guillemin".
Circular stamp on the back "Fabrication Française Made In France" - French Manufacturing Made In France .
Old edition sculpture , period second half of the 19th century .
Very good condition of conservation and patina .

Alfred Barye (1839-1895)

Alfred Barye , renowned French sculptor , known as "the Son", or "Alf Barye", born in Paris on January 21, 1839 .

Alfred Barye was a pupil of his father , the sculptor Antoine-Louis Barye (1795-1875) .
He trained and worked in his father's workshop and foundry .
His work includes animal bronzes as well as orientalist and comic subjects .
He exhibited at the Salon from 1864 to 1882 .

The works of Alfred Barye show a very high degree of detail , execution and finish , equal to the works of his father .
Alfred Barye realizes the "Arab Rider on Horseback" with the collaboration of Emile Coriolan Guillemin (1841-1907) .
He died on May 13 , 1895 , in Paris .

Emile Guillemin (1841 - 1907)

Emile - Coriolan Guillemin , born in Paris on November 16 , 1841 and died in the same city in 1907 , is a French sculptor .
Emile - Coriolan Guillemin was a pupil of his father , Auguste Marie Guillemin and Jules Salmson .
He exhibited at the Salon from 1870 until 1899 .
He obtained an honorable mention in 1892 .
E.Guillemin is known for pushing to the extreme a realism served , in his bronzes in particular , by a remarkable quality of carving .
