Tibet, 19th century, superb element of ritual adornment in yak bone depicting Buddha seated in the position of taking the earth as a witness (Bhumisparsa Mudra) on the upper part and the representation of a human skull on the lower part. Also called "shamanic adornments", these tantric aprons are worn by Buddhist monks during the "cham" dances which are celebrated every year within the walls of monasteries in Tibet.
