    Auguste Moreau (1834-1917)

    Auguste Louis Mathurin MOREAU , known as Auguste Moreau , is a famous French academic sculptor .
    Born on February 22, 1834 in Dijon , Auguste Moreau is the son of the painter and statuary Jean-Baptiste-Louis-Joseph Moreau and the younger brother of the sculptors Hippolyte Moreau and Mathurin Moreau . 

    Auguste Moreau began sculpture with his older brother Mathurin . 
    In 1861 , he made his debut at the Salon , where he exhibited regularly until 1913 . 
    He is related to the "Moreau" dynasty with his subjects and genre scenes, pastorals , allegories , and his realistic and graceful style 
    Auguste Moreau produced mainly artistic bronzes . 

    Auguste Moreau died on November 11, 1917, in Malesherbes . 
    Several of his works are kept at the Museum of Fine Arts in Troye and the Museum of Fine Arts in Bordeaux .
