Large Art Deco bronze sculpture by Jean Verschneider (1872-1943) entitled l'effort.
Depicts a man driving a long stake into a rock.
Bronze of exceptional quality, with a beautiful shaded green patina.
Very large size, very wide base representing a rock.
Foundry stamp LN Paris JL n° 15.
The bronze will be packed in a suitable wooden crate.
Jules Verschneider (1872-1943) was a French sculptor whose work was part of the sculpture competition at the 1924 Summer Olympics.
He exhibited at the Salon from 1905, with the effort dating from 1913.
Listed in the Kjellberg.
Fondeur: Jules Lehmann's nephews was a Parisian Art foundry in the Art Deco period from the 1920s to the 1930s.
The foundry produced works by renowned artists such as Chiparus, Roux, le Faguays, Colinet and others.
Production ended in the 1940s.
