Raoul LARCHE (1860-1912)
Lamp-sculpture representing Loïe Fuller in bronze with a golden patina, made by the Siot-Decauville foundry (period sand casting technique and original gilding).
The work is signed at the base and measures 33 cm high.
Note: This lamp is an artistic interpretation of the famous American dancer Mary Louise Fuller, known as Loïe Fuller (1862-1925). Renowned for her choreography in which she twirled her sails, Fuller twirled on a glass surface lit from below, illuminated by side spotlights. Wrapped in meters and meters of light fabric, she created luminous forms in motion on stage. Stéphane Mallarmé described it as "an intoxication of art and, at the same time, an industrial achievement".
