Bronze sculpture with brown patina "Nymph with poppies" signed Gustave OBIOLS. This depicts a young woman walking with a walking stick in her left hand. Her head is crowned with a wreath of poppy flowers and leaves on an undone bun. Bare-chested, she is draped in a cape held in place by an ornate belt and thong. She wears sandals. In her hand she holds a bouquet of poppy flowers. The terrace, treated like a rock, is decorated with leaves and signed G. Obiols. The bronze bears the EU mark and the foundry stamp "Médaille d'Or Paris". This is a sand cast. This work is influenced by the Art Nouveau movement which particularly likes the poppy motif and the sinuous lines as in the hair of this figure.
