LUCIUS VERUS, Roman emperor.
Bronze bust with brown patina.
Nervous and precise chasing, rich and deep patina.
Foundry stamp SB, marked in cursive letters on the side "Société des bronzes".
Height : 47 cm, Width : 23 cm.

Adoptive brother and co-emperor with Marcus Aurelius, Lucius Verus (130-169) can be identified by his curly hair, as on the bronze in the Louvre from the Campana collection.

Provenance: private collection from a 17th-century Paris apartment.
