Thailand, Rattanakosin kingdom (1782-1932), early 19th century. Large bronze statue of Buddha seated in maravijaya on a double-row lotus throne with beaded edge, his right hand in bhumisparsa mudra, dressed in a diaphanous sanghati with incised hems, his meditative expression finely rendered by his mother-of-pearl-encrusted eyes.
The flame is no longer present.
