Souvenir du Grand Tour.
Beautiful bronze sculpture with medal patina depicting Hermes, god of travelers, resting, seated on a Turquin blue marble rock (slight alterations).
Based on the sculpture discovered during excavations at the Villa dei Papyri in Herculaneum in 1758 and now housed in the National Archaeological Museum in Naples (specialists agree that it is a 1st century CE Roman copy of a 3rd century CE Greek bronze).
