Bronze " Woman in the Antique" of E. Bouret - XIXth

Bronze subject with a medallion patina signed Eutrope Bouret (1833-1906), a French sculptor member of the Société des Artistes, whose works were exhibited at the Salon from 1875 to 1903.
Meticulously chiseled, this work represents a young woman wearing a draped and vaporous dress held in her left hand. Her wavy hair is held back by a long scarf, framing her beautiful and serene face.
She rests her right hand on a book supported by a column.
Signed on the terrace and the bottom of the column, this bronze inspired by mythology is a praise to femininity.
