First apprenticed to a marble mason, then a student of Jouffroy at the Ecole des Beaux Arts; his main works include Le chasseur d'aigles, bronze 1883, second medal, Buttes Chaumont - L'Ouragan, bronze 1883, second medal, Jardin Massey - On veille, marble 1885, first medal, Musée de Nancy - Le Matador, bronze 1886, Danton,etc.
He exhibited regularly at the Salon from 1879 to 1914, with allegories, genre or historical scenes, and various figures.
