    Lovely sculpture representing a young elegant woman with a hat, signed by Georges Van Der Straeten, foundry stamp Société des Bronzes de Paris.

    Georges Van Der Straeten settled in Paris in 1883 and won a medal at the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1900 and was named a knight of the Legion of Honor in 1903.

    He liked to represent in his works the graceful, elegant and alluring young Parisian women.

    This artist is representative of the Belle Époque, the period when Art Nouveau appeared.
