    The Dancing Faun
    A bronze sculpture emblematic of ancient art, dating from the 2nd century BC, it was discovered in 1830 in the eponymous villa in Pompeii. The discovery of this particularly well-preserved bronze marked the beginning of a real craze for this figure, which was reproduced throughout the 19th century.
    In Greek mythology, the dancing faun is a figure associated with the cult of Dionysus.
    Today, a reproduction of this sculpture can be found in the villa's atrium, in its original location, while the original is preserved and exhibited at the Naples Archaeological Museum.
