What is this young faun doing? He seems preoccupied or perhaps he is just tired. Judging by his sack, in which there are only a few grapes, we can imagine that the bacchanal is over and that our young boy, half-man, half-goat, is going back to where he came from or is waiting for the next party!

This patinated and gilded bronze in perfect condition is sculpted after the one by Clodion, a sculptor famous for his mythological groups in bronze or terracotta. He was a student of Jean-Baptiste Pigalle (1714 - 1785) and the author of the decoration of the castle of Digoine in Saône-et-Loire.
