Rare bronze group after Giambologna (1529-1608), representing Hercules carrying the Erymanthian boar. The original model was created by Giambologna (also known as Giovanni di Bolognese) between 1587 and 1589, at the request of Francis I de' Medici to adorn the Uffizi Gallery.
A very fine early 19th-century Italian or French cast iron sculpture with its beautiful original medallion patina.
The later black marble base has a missing corner.
