    Adrien Etienne GAUDEZ 1845 / 1902

    Adrien Étienne Gaudez, born in Lyon on February 9, 1845 and died in Neuilly-sur-Seine on January 23, 1902, was a French sculptor.
    Gaudez studied with François Jouffroy at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris in 1862. He made his debut at the Salon 2 years later.
    A prisoner of war in Magdeburg during the Franco-Prussian war of 1870, he was responsible for the monument to the French prisoners of war in that city.
    He is also the author of Florian d'Alès, the monument to the dead of Remiremont, etc.
    Few of his bronzes were exhibited at the Salon
