    Alfredo Biagini(1886 – 1952)

    Alfredo Biagini is an Italian sculptor , born in Rome in 1886 .

    The son of a goldsmith , he studied sculpture and architecture from 1905 to 1909 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome .
    After this first phase of studies , he settled for a time in Paris , where he took courses in architecture and sculpture , then courses in anatomy where he studied the animals of the city's zoo , from 1909 .
    There he developed his identity as an animal artist .

    His interest in animals earned him an award from the National Museum of Natural History in Paris in 1909 .
    Alfredo Biagini's works are characterized by a balance between naturalism and stylization , between rendering details and simplification of volumes .

    The sculptor's fame grew over the years thanks to his constant participation in National and International Exhibitions , such as the Venice Biennale from 1924 to 1930 and the International Exhibition of Modern Art in Geneva in 1920 .

    Alfredo BIAGINI died in 1952 in Rome .
