Clovis - Edmond Masson (1838-1913)

A student of Antoine - Louis Barye , Pierre - Louis Rouillard and Santiago , Clovis - Edmond Masson regularly exhibited his animal sculptures at the Salon from 1867 to 1909 .

From 1867 , with his plaster "Indian Tiger Hunt" , he specialized in animal representation , his work playful and inventive with a certain license from his mentor , Antoine-Louis Barye .
Over the years , at least fifty-two of his works were exhibited at the Salon by C.Masson .
His son Jules-Edmond Masson also became a sculptor and studied with his father .

The city of Nîmes has several of the artist's sculptures in its Museum .
