* Hippolyte Marius Galy (1847-1929)
was a French sculptor, medalist and painter. A student at the École des Beaux-arts de Paris, Hippolyte Marius Galy studied sculpture with Auguste Dumont (1801-1884) and painting with Fernand Cormon (1845-1924). He became a member of the Société des artistes français in 1891. He produced several models and numerous sculptures for the palaces and buildings at the Paris Universal Exhibitions. He brought back many paintings from his life in the Basque country.
