La chasse au lapin ou groupe de chiens au terrier is a bronze sculpture with a brown patina by P J Mêne.

A prolific artist, Pierre Jules Mêne 1810-1879, established himself as one of the leading French animal sculptors of the 19th century.
As early as 1838, he took part in the Paris Salon; he set up his own foundry workshop and began to cast and chisel his works himself.
His taste for animal sculpture, and above all the quality of his work, made him a great success.
