*Jules Moigniez (1835-1894) :
animal sculptor (Ec fr). A pupil of Cornoléra, he made his debut at the 1855 Salon. He was awarded an honorable mention in 1859 and exhibited at the 1878 Universal Exhibition. The Château de Compiègne preserves his "Pheasant and Pointing Dog". (Extrait Bénézit) He exhibited regularly at the Salon from 1859 to 1892, and enjoyed great success both in France and abroad.
