    Bronze sculpture representing a goose walking with a snail on its beak.
    Rare and sought-after subject of the artist.
    Vintage cast iron from Susse Frères, circa 1920.
    Beautiful carving and nuanced brown patina in superb condition.
    Signature of the artist on the terrace and of the founder "Susse Frs Edts Paris" on the side.
    Edition between 1918 and 1930 of 110 copies.
    Circular founder's stamp on the back with letter V.

    Excellent state of conservation.

    HISTORY: Sandoz imagined this witty and cheerful sculpture for the exhibition "War and Humorists" in the spring of 1917. Its title plays on the "Goose Step", a rhythmic march adopted by certain army corps when they are marching.
