Friedrich GORNIK 1877 / 1943
Born in Carinthia, Austria, Gornik studied at the School of Arts and Crafts in Vienna. He made a name for himself with his studies of animals with a view to their execution in ceramics, and sketched designs for vases, bowls, etc.
He executed a number of animal sculptures in bronze and groups in plaster.
A group of horses, Trolka, executed in bronze by the foundryman Arthur Rubinstein, was purchased by the Austrian Emperor.
He also executed works depicting human beings: Querelles de jeunes gens, Départ de dragons à cheval, etc.
