Ernest Bussière (1863-1913)
This jug is one of the 29 so-called vegetable ceramics in the exhibition bearing the double signature Keller and Guérin Lunéville and Bussière. However, on this one we find the signature KG Lunéville Majorelle (Majorelle took over and put his name on pieces by Bussière that he put up for sale).
Like the others, it is part of a set dominated by the organic plastic of plant forms with a matte and shiny glass skin whose know-how has been lost.
Ernest Bussière was a sculptor and worked for important monuments in several cities. This work as a ceramicist is a parenthesis in his work as a sculptor.
These pieces are presented in many museums such as:
The Museum of the School of Nancy
The Museum of Lunéville
The Ariana Museum in Geneva…etc.
