Large pair of ornamental vases in Paris porcelain. Empire period - early 19th century, circa 1810.
Beautiful two-sided decoration, on the front with nude women or antique-style divinities, allegories of water and air (subjects reminiscent of the decorations on the Hotel de Beauharnais in Paris). The back, in plain gold, is decorated with military trophies in matte and brilliant gold. Very fine matte and brilliant gold ornamentation throughout the vase, particularly the side handles with their busts of antique-style women in matte gold.
A large, highly decorative model, as formats of this size were a luxury production at the time. A fine complement to Empire-style decoration.
Our vases are well preserved (fresh gilding, vivid colors). Restoration to the base, but the bulk of the vase and notably the winged busts are intact.
Height: 38.5cm
