Ironstone porcelain, translated as "iron stone", is a type of pottery first made in the United Kingdom in the early 19th century, by potters from Staffordshire: they were looking at the time to produce a large quantity of quality porcelain for the then very demanding market.
These objects are renowned for their resistance (hence the word "iron") and above all this material made it possible to create pieces of impressive dimensions for the time.
The potter Charles Mason seems to be at the origin of the development of ironstone; in any case he was the first to file the patent for it in 1813.
Height: 110cm
