A large panelled vase, nicely decorated with Imari-inspired decorations. This style of Japanese origin, which appeared in the 17th century, was taken up considerably by Westerners, sensitive to the poetry of this art. This work is signed by the artist Henri GIBOT, and dated November 16, 1943, under the base.
This vase is magnified by a plant decoration of flowers and foliage in shades of blue, gold, pink, green and orange. Butterflies and birds seem ready to land. The base is embellished with a frieze with geometric curves, recalling the movements of water, a bridge comes over this imaginary river.
You will be touched by the delicacy and refinement of this important vase, which will subtly dress the room in which you choose to place it.
