Large pair of ornamental vases in Paris porcelain. Empire style work, Restoration period - early 19th century, 1820s-1830s.
They have retained their very rare Manufacturer's label from the Fauveau Manufacture (also Fau's handwritten signature in iron red), "à la Levrette, rue Saint Honoré N°256 in Paris, Fauveau Marchand Fayencier, holds porcelain and crystals"
Beautiful decoration in the orientalist style representing sultanas dressed in chamaré turbans in the style of La Belle Odalisque, painted by Ingres in 1814. On the back are trophies of musical instruments. Very beautiful matte and shiny gilding throughout the vase, particularly the side handles with lion's muzzles in gold biscuit and the patterns on the gold backgrounds.
Large model, very decorative, formats of this size were a luxury production at the time. Our vases are in excellent condition: extremely fresh gilding, bright colors, no accidents, some small cooking defects, vintage.
Superb and rare in this condition.
Provenance, castle in Creuse.
Height: 36cm
