Sèvres porcelain vase, model of the "Gauvenet 7" form, white and blue decorated with Arabic calligraphy motifs, signed by Boutaleb*, trial made in Sèvres and numbered 7.5.79, 20th century.
This vase is in very, very good condition. It is signed M.Boutaleb 7.5.79 and engraved PG-1-79 PD.
It is a personal work by the artist and not an official commission from Sèvres. This Arab theme most probably refers to his original training in Algiers and his Arab-Muslim culture. However, he added the codes of the Manufacture de Sèvres: the Gauvenet 7 form still used, and the colors (white and Sèvres blue), giving us this magnificent piece combining his two cultures.
