Porcelain teapot decorated with flowers and gilding on a pink background. It consists of a two-part base, the tisanière and its lid.
The tisanière, or pilot light, is a set designed to keep herbal teas warm, consisting of a hollow base, generally cylindrical in shape, at the bottom of which is a small container filled with oil, with a wick that is lit. The herbal tea cup or broth bowl is placed on top. The whole, called a tisanière or pilot light, is usually made of porcelain.

Invented in the 2nd half of the 17th century, tisanieres were very much in vogue from the First Empire (1804-1815) to the end of the Second (1852-1870).

This tisanière is charming with its pink color and gilding.
Concerning its condition, traces of wear and gilding wear. A very fine decorative object.
