Dimensions: D. 22; H. 12 (cm.)

Superb covered broth and its bowl in hard Paris porcelain, by the Locré factory. Very beautiful decoration of gold and polychrome motifs. The marli decorated with friezes and garlands of gilding, ribbons and painted garlands. The center decorated with centered barbels. The elegantly braided handles on either side of the broth, the grip of the lid in imitation of the plant.
The Locré Manufacture
Created by Jean-Baptiste Locré in 1771, it enjoyed a prosperous period under Louis XVI with clients like du Barry and Lafayette. The quality of its gold and its painted decorations places it in direct competition with Sèvres. When Locré died, workshop manager Laurent Russinger became its owner. He managed it until the end of the 18th century then joined forces with the Limouge kaolin merchant François Pouyat given the financial difficulties he encountered. Pouyat worked to develop the company's activities until 1810, then sold it to his three sons who continued to run it successfully until the Restoration. Pouyat and Russinger specialize in good quality everyday items, mainly tableware and ornamental pieces but also bisque groups.
Condition report: minor wear and light hair in the bottom of the broth.
