Early 20th century, very beautiful and unusual ceramic sculpture of an ibex in the spirit of 12th and 13th century Iranian aquamaniles. Perhaps a European work, with a choice of colors in the sensibility of creations by Alexandre Bigot or Pierre-Adrien Dalpayrat, for example.
The ibex's mouth and eyes are surrounded by manganese. The whole piece is in good condition, with no dents or cracks (even on the horns), apart from slight wear and small original chips on the base of the legs, which correspond to the piece's removal from the kiln. Substantial weight due to good density.
