Rare and elegant covered bowl and its second size tray. This is circular in shape, with two gripping handles made of twisted scrolls. The lid with a grip imitating the plant. The tray with raised and slightly scalloped edges.
The decor consists of two-tone gilding, garlands of palmettes and foliage scrolls, and a pink background called Taillandier in the upper part.
The hard dough in Sèvres and the Taillandier funds
Experimented from 1765, and adopted in 1772 mainly for sculpture, hard paste coexisted with soft paste for the production of shaped pieces and services until the Revolutionary period.
Thanks to the preservation of two covered "milk" cups, dated 1766 and 1767, we can date quite precisely the appearance of the Taillandier background which is composed of a solid color against which white circles with an irregular outline stand out. . The authorship of this decoration is shared between the eponymous worker and Jean-Baptiste Tandart, another talented craftsman at the factory.
