The William Guérin & Compagnie factory opened its doors in 1870 and then expanded by building several workshops in 1879 and between 1892 and 1904. In 1890, Guérin & Compagnie produced the porcelain panels that made up the frieze of the Halles de Limoges (Place de la Motte), then in 1893 those that adorned the fountain of the Hôtel de Ville. In 1911, W. Guérin, associated with his two sons since 1903, acquired the neighboring Pouyat porcelain factory (Place des Carmes). The William Guérin & Compagnie factory closed in 1920.
