This fairly small plate is decorated in a rather unusual rose Canton style.  Alongside the more usual fruit, flowers and butterflies there are bats, mythical beasts and on each side is a lovely display unit with a large chinese vase and a censer.  My feeling is that this plate dates to the second half of the 19th c.

The plate is not perfect, there is a small chip on the rim and some wear to the gilt, and flaking of the enamels, but it still diplays beautifully, the colours are vibrant and the decoration is very interesting to look at.

The approximate measurements are 20 cms in diameter with the weight being 338 g.
