These 2 tiny cups were made in China during the 18th c in the Qianlong period. These are export pieces that once had lids and were used to keep meat juices warm. Pots à jus were first made in France by St Cloud in 1730 (information courtesy of Gotheborg.com) and subsequently appeared as parts of the dinner services that were ordered from China for export to Europe. Later on they began to be used for creams and custards which is why they are also referred to as cream pots.
As you can see the lids are missing and there is some damage, but they are an interesting pair and I hope they will make a nice addition to someone's collection. Please look carefully at the photos to make sure you are happy with the condition. The dimensions are as follows: the cup with the hairlines down the side weighs 94 g and the other 98 g; both are approximately 5 cms high and have a mouth diameter of about 6 cms.
