Very beautiful Rudolstadt white porcelain figurine - Germany - The details are remarkable and perfectly precise - Mounted on a gilded bronze base, it is numbered 6812/15
The scene represents a farmer feeding her farm animals
Blue mark on the base of Volkstedt-Rudolstadt in Thuringia, Germany (used between 1895 and 1930). . Founded in 1760 by George Macheleid during the reign of Prince Jean-Frédéric de Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt. Volkstedt-Rudolstadt porcelain has established a reputation for its white (bisque) or painted and carefully modeled porcelain figurines which are sought after by collectors today.
This is a rare piece of a Volkstedt-Rudolstadt porcelain figurine style and does not come on the market often.
The marking indicates an estimated period of manufacture in 1894 to 1912:
