    Portrait in profile to the left, framed by the legend "F. PH. L. DUC D'ORLEANS PRINCE ROYAL 1810".

    Although unsigned, this medallion is part of a famous series of portraits of the Orléans family, a complete example of which can be seen at the Musée Condé in Chantilly. It is the work of Jean-Jacque Barre, the famous engraver who had many responsibilities at the Monnaie de Paris during the July Monarchy. This medallion can be dated after 1837, when this model went into production at Sèvres.
