GIRRE (Pierre), painter born April 25, 1921 in Chatellerault (Vienne). Attracted to painting at an early age, he trained at the prestigious Parisian academies Julian and de la Grande Chaumière. A member of the Salons des Artistes Français and des Indépendants, he also exhibited in Lyon, Geneva and at the Deauville International Festival. He received numerous awards, and some of his works can be found in museums in France and abroad (notably Italy and Portugal).
This work, an oil on canvas from the 1960s/1970s, features a bouquet of flowers. Titled "Légèreté" by the artist and countersigned on the back.
Dimensions 40 cm x 30 cm (48 cm x 38 cm with frame), in good condition.
