Pair of still lifes painted on copper, the first depicting a piece of goldsmith's work in vermeil, surrounded by a lobster and shells on one side, and a bunch of grapes behind a bouquet of strawberries on the other.
The whole rests on an entablature bearing the artist's monogram (TGP).
The second depicts a table centrepiece in the form of a bowl holding cherries, around which is a bouquet of roses on the left and, on the right, a bird's nest containing eggs, towards which a cockchafer is heading. This scene, too, rests on an entablature with the same monogram at its center.
Dutch work, 19th century.
