EPKO (Willering), Dutch painter born March 24, 1928. Nicknamed "the Dutch magician of color", this artist was exhibited in some of the world's most prestigious galleries, notably in Paris and New York. His perfect mastery of a vivid, shimmering palette earned him numerous prestigious awards between 1950 and 1970, including the Prix Othon Friesz. Willering EPKO features prominently in renowned private collections and modern art museums. This very fine work, signed by the artist in the lower left-hand corner and titled "La grappe de raisin", dates from 1983 and was sold, not by the famous Félix Vercel gallery in New York, which had almost exclusive rights to this artist's paintings, but by the Christiane Vallé gallery in Clermont-Ferrand, a friend of the painter's, during a fine exhibition entitled "FLEURS".
