Our oil on copper is from a Flemish school around 1650. It evokes an unusual iconographic theme. It is the discovery of the True Cross by Saint Helena and the presentation of this Christ relic to her son the Emperor Constantine.
Dimensions of the oil 22 cm by 16.
The work is highlighted by a magnificent gilded wooden frame, richly carved, of Italian inspiration more than Flemish.
