Very large framed oil on canvas showing 3 beautiful ladies seated in a rich interior.

The symbolism may shed light on the royal status of the most important lady, in the center, crowned with gold and pearls, seated almost from the back, her face turned slightly to the right, looking at the crown and the fleur-de-lys scepter resting on a velvet cushion.
To her right, a young lady wearing a crown of flowers holds out a rose, symbolizing purity and love.
To her left, the lady with the star-spangled crown holds up a golden sculpture of Minerva, a symbol of wisdom.

These three women seem to be closely linked, looking in the same direction, touching (hand on back, hand in hand) and sharing the moment solemnly.

In the background, the curtain opens onto a green courtyard, with a large arcade of columns and a frieze of lions' heads.

The colors are vivid, the painting is of high quality; the talented artist has even incorporated gold leaf

This work is signed in the footrest, but the signature is illegible, and is dated 1883.

The frame is richly decorated, like a marble inlay.

Good condition, old restorations (very well done, visible only on the back) and wear to the frame
