Sophie is the daughter of the poet and literary critic Michel Alexandrovitch Struve (1890-1949). She lived in Nice, then in Paris where she completed the school of applied arts. She exhibited in Paris in 1954 at the exhibition of naive painters, then in 1956, 1960, 1961 and 1962 she participated in group exhibitions at the Comparaisons salon.

The artist's work is presented at the Museum of Modern Art in Paris, among others.
