    Framed (some gaps in the gilded wood frame)
    Exhibited at the Salon des Beaux-Arts in 1907 under the reference 1034, then at the Geneva Salon in 1908 under the number 15 (label still present on the back).
    Format (panel): 43 x 37.5 cm
    Format (frame): 57.5 x 52.5 cm

    The last painting in the auction room featuring a bride, officially titled "At the foot of the altar", also exhibited at the Salon des Beaux-Arts in 1907 (number 1031) made 6,500 euros.

    Student of Alexandre Cabanel, Édouard Dubufe and Alexis-Joseph Mazerolle at the National School of Fine Arts in Paris.
    He exhibited mythological subjects and genre paintings at the Salon des Artistes Français from 1878, then at the Salon of the National Society of Fine Arts.

    Prizes awarded to Edouard Rosset-Granger:
    - Gold medal at the 1900 Paris Universal Exhibition for "Les Aciéries de Longwy" (Decorative Arts Section).
